Chilean economy grows 1.9% year-on-year

Chile's economy sees a rebound in the second quarter of the year and generates good expectations

Chile’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) posted 1.9% year-on-year growth in the second quarter of the year, driven by service activities, the nation’s Central Bank said today.

The institution said that both the manufacturing industry and the agricultural and forestry industry fell in the same period of time.

Domestic demand, meanwhile, posted a 1.8% growth in the quarter.

Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted GDP rose 0.8% in the three months, due in part to a recovery in mining.
