Chile lowered its economic growth projection for this year to 2.5 % and expects an increase in inflation, according to data from the Public Finance Report for the fourth quarter of 2024.
According to the Budget Directorate, “the current scenario considers a GDP growth of 2.5 % for 2025, highlighting a significant recovery in investment. This is due to an increase in gross fixed capital formation of 3.9 % annually, rebounding strongly after the fall in 2024.”
The prediction for annual inflation in 2025 is 4.7 % instead of the 4.2 % previously forecast.
The data provided by the Chilean government on economic growth in 2025 coincide with the estimates of the International Monetary Fund on the country’s GDP, which placed it between 2 % and 2.5 %.
