Catalonia will incorporate blockchain technology
The government of the Spanish region said it intends to incorporate this activity in public administration
Through a statement, the Government of Catalonia announced that it intends to incorporate a blockchain technology plan for its activity in public administration.
The authorities said their plan is “to improve digital services to the public and promote the potential of this technology among the Public Administration, companies and citizens.”
The Department of Digital Policies of Catalonia will create a strategy for blockchain technology in all areas relevant to Public Administration by the end of this year.
This department will be integrated by an independent working group that will promote knowledge and everything related to blockchain technology.
This is not the first time that Spain, or any of its regions, is related to this technology. Recently, Banco Santander had announced the incorporation of the blockchain in its system.
