Caracas is considered the cheapest city in the world

A report prepared by the British weekly The Economist assures that the capital of Venezuela is in position 133

The report prepared by the British weekly The Economist assures that Caracas occupies the last position of the list of the most expensive cities in the world.

The weekly takes into account for these parameters the amount of rent, transportation, education, food, drinks, clothing, household and personal care items, and recreational activities.

This however is only possible for those with income in dollars in the country, because the purchasing power in Venezuela has been severely hit by the hyperinflation process that has been going on since 2017.

Although spending in dollars has been increasing for some time now, the figures are not close to those that can be used in other cities around the world.

Caracas, Damascus and Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with 133, 132 and 131 points respectively, are the cheapest places to reside.
