British company offers 115,000 euros for a human face on a robot

The selection process to the search of a person with a happy and friendly face is open

A British company offers more than one hundred thousand euros for obtaining a lifelong face for the manufacture of virtual machines. An idea that has been raised by the robotics industry in countless opportunities and that has also become a complex debate due to the effects that can generate this vision in the future. It is not the same to interact with a hydraulic and metal arm machine than to do it with an ordinary person that you can find on the street.

According to a statement, company sources explain that the only requirement is a personal photograph until finding the correct face that meets the features needed. “This will imply that the face of the selected person is reproduced in thousands of versions of the latest generation robots by everyone,” indicated company sources.

It may sound like the plot of a science fiction movie, but the truth is that the company has announced that it will pay the selected person $ 130,000 which is equivalent to 115,000 euros just for making use of his face. It is also known that the British company will work with the robotics firm Geomiq in order to carry out this task, as indicated by The Mirror newspaper.

Although the mastermind has slightly sealed the details of the initiative, it is known that the firm is a client whose name is anonymous for confidentiality reasons, due to its connection with significant investment funds, some of them from China.

According to the estimates the European Commission manages, the robotics market will move around 60,000 million euros every year from 2020. For this reason, Western countries and Asian regions such as Japan, which have been affected by a demographic crisis, have oriented the creativity to the model of robotic assistance, designed to care for and accompany older people, young children and groups with disabilities.
