Britain seeks crypto tax evaders

The authorities have requested information from three important exchanges, which have received notification from the Revenue and Customs agency, among them Coinbase, eToro and CEX.IO

The issue of data from those who perform crypto transactions is becoming increasingly important and is becoming a worldwide requirement. Every day there are more countries that add up to prevent, avoid or control the privacy of operations and make the crypto world also enter the tax lane.

In view of such considerations, the tax authority of Great Britain, HM Revenue & Customs is pressing cryptocurrency exchanges to reveal the names of customers. It is also requesting transaction histories.

Without a doubt, the institution seeks to recover unpaid taxes. Apparently the purpose is to seek information on who has bought and sold in the last two or three years and has not declared such transfers before any official entity.

The media say that at least three important exchanges received letters from the agency; These include Coinbase, eToro and CEX.IO. However, none of the three has declared in this regard.

To conclude, it is worth noting that the measure of the Agency of Revenue and Customs follows a pattern also established by other peers, such as the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
