Brazil will create fiscal registry based on blockchain

In addition to facilitating the integration of data from companies and institutions, the solution seeks to allow the availability of data in a timely, distributed, immutable and traceable

According to the recent proposal of the authorities of tax collection in Brazil, companies will also soon enter a data registry based on blockchain technology. This was recently reported by the Federal Collection Office of Brazil (RFB).

The RFB report indicates that the country has plans to launch a “National Registry of Legal Entities” to back the data in a chain of blocks. It is a tool parallel to the one announced last November for the tax registration of natural persons.

The main objective of this tool is to provide the data of companies and institutions registered immediately, decentralized, immutable and traceable.

The company Dataprev, which reports to the Ministry of Finance, was hired for the technological solution for individuals. Although it is not yet known if it will be responsible for the National Registry of Legal Entities, it is a potential supplier.

Dataprev developed an open source free software for the Ministry of Finance last November, to share the data with authorized public institutions through the G2G system (Goverment to Goverment).

The company has been responsible for maintaining the training of its staff in relation to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. For its part, the Federal Collection Office of Brazil is working on a regulation aimed at exchange houses according to which they would be required to submit a monthly report of operations with cryptocurrencies. In case of delays or omission of this report will face heavy fines.
