Bitfury wants to create mining centers in Paraguay

The technology company, through an alliance with Commons Foundations, will build the space in a 200,000 square meters lot and will use renewable energy for its operation

The bitcoin mining hardware and blockchain technology Bitfury indicated that it is considering the creation of a cryptocurrency production center in Paraguay.

This will be possible thanks to the partnership with South Korea’s peer-to-peer research startup Commons Foundation, with which it already has a project in progress that consists of a series of transaction processing sites using the information centers BlockBox AC mobile in the Latin American region.

The initiative is part of a project called “Golden Goose“, which includes an expansion in the “blockchain innovation and the use of cryptocurrencies to the Spanish-speaking countries.”

According to the announcement, the mining facilities in Paraguay will have around 200,000 square meters, with energy provided by a 500 MW power substation.

Bitfury indicated that the energy they plan to use will be renewable energy, given that Paraguay has the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world.
