Bitcoiner throwing $ 700 from the roof arrested
The police reported that a man dropped 5,000 Hong Kong dollars, the equivalent to 693 USD, from the roof of a building for catching publicity for his cryptocurrency investment page
The authorities of Hong Kong gave the order to the citizens of one of the poorest sectors of the country of not to collect the money that was falling from the “sky”. Otherwise, they would commit a crime by taking the money improperly.
Then, the police reported that they recovered 5 thousand Hong Kong dollars distributed in 100 bills. The man who threw them can face a fine of 5 thousand HKD and twelve months in prison.
The arrested businessman is Wong Ching Kit, also known as Coin Master or Mr Coin, who owns a website called Coin’s Group dedicated to providing investment advice on cryptoactives. The video of the event was broadcast live on the company’s Facebook page.
Robin Wood of bitcoin, as he calls himself, said that “the Chinese wash a lot more money than the people do in Hong Kong” and that he is only “stealing from the rich to bring it to the poor”, so his actions will be a way of becoming a “Justice Hero” who wants to promote the adoption of Bitcoin in the city.
After the event, Wong has been interviewed in the media and has become very popular, so he took profit of the opportunity to promote cryptographic coin mining equipment.
