Bitcoin Cash miners plan to donate resources for network development

The proposal suggests that 12.5% of the mining block rewards will be donated to a financing fund

A group of Bitcoin Cash miners proposes to donate part of their rewards in order to support the network in the development of the Bitcoin Cash blockchain platform protocol. The contribution would be 12.5% of the rewards of the block which will be directed to a common fund to finance such development.

As described in the plan, the financing of the miners will last six months and will aim to support the BCH infrastructure. The fund would receive approximately BCH 112.5 per day and around BCH 20,588 during the half year.

The acted funds will be directed to a Hong Kong corporation, created by the group of miners to receive and distribute the funds legally. In a few months, calculating at current currency prices, the fund could receive approximately USD $ 7.1 million in total.

According to the statement, the project involves pool BTC.TOP, Antpool, BTC.com, ViaBTC and Bitcoin.com which represent “the majority of the hash rate of Bitcoin Cash identified.”

Although the miners have pointed out that this measure is not about a change of protocol, but an internal political decision and some enthusiasts have criticized the decision as a centralized mechanism, the criticism is especially concerned with the management of funds that will have the Hong Kong corporation.
