Binance freezes stolen funds from Cryptopia

The CEO of the exchange, Changpeng Zhao announced that the cryptocurrencies were frozen to initiate the relevant police investigation

Recently there was a theft of millions of dollars in a New Zealand exchange called Cryptopia. However, there are already indications about the destination of funds.

In this situation Binance exchange house, where the assets allegedly went to, proceeded to freeze these funds as indicated by the CEO of one of the largest companies in the area, Changpeng Zhao.

Currently, the New Zealand exchange is closed due to the police investigation for the hacking of 3.3 million dollars in cryptocurrencies.

The action was taken after Binance users reported that suspicious transactions were taking place from addresses that allegedly belonged to the hacker.

In this regard, Zhao proceeded to confirm that Binance personnel placed the tokens in quarantine.
