Belgium launches web to warn about scams with cryptocurrencies

The measure was taken by the Belgian government in view of the scams suffered by investors in digital currencies in 2017

Taking into account the risks that cryptocurrencies can represent for the economy in general and for individual investors, the Belgian Government launched on June 5 a website to warn the public about scams and cryptographic frauds.

The page is called Too Good to Be True (http://tropbeaupouretrevrai.be/trop-beau-pour-etre-vrai) and refers to the fact that cryptocurrency investments may seem very reliable and optimistic but hide risks that could mean millionaire losses in euros.

The authorities of the European country point out that a high percentage of cryptoactive frauds is not reported. Through the web page they try to reach the greatest number of people and companies to keep them aware of the risks to which they may expose themselves when the business seems too good.

The site is simple and offers information about the types of attacks to investors and the possibility of reporting any fraud. The user can also register to receive the newsletter with updated tips.

Once the interested parties review the page they will be able to obtain truthful information and thus make safe decisions to invest and carry out transactions in cryptocurrencies without the worry of being victims of a scam.
