Barcelona Industry Week will face technological challenges

Strategies to promote intelligent, connected and autonomous manufacturing will be evaluated from October 29 to 31 on the Gran Via de Fira in Barcelona

Tthe Technology Industry has managed to consolidate great advances in the market through time. One of them is the incorporation of the 4.0 platform, a challenge for some companies. According to a report prepared last year by Everis, only 5% of Spanish companies are prepared to fully assume their incorporation into the so-called industry.

On the occasion of the Barcelona Industry Week, which celebrates its fourth edition, the Gran Via de Fira site in Barcelona will address this issue on October 29 and 31 in order to promote intelligent, connected and autonomous manufacturing at a time when the industry is not going through its best moment and is being affected by global trade tensions and the slowdown.

Disruptive technologies

With the completion of seven events, Insdutry Week expects to receive a total of 25,000 professional visitors, attracted by 550 exhibiting companies and 600 speakers. It is expected that this time, its focus will be the most favorable solutions offered by disruptive technologies to improve manufacturing processes.

“We intend to accelerate the transformation of the industry by making automation tools available to companies by always explaining them through real cases. Barcelona Industry Week is not aimed at technology specialists but at managers looking for new processes and more efficiency,” explains Salvador Tasqué, director of Fira de Barcelona’s own business.

For his part, Roger Bou, director of the congress, explains that the revolution that involves the combination of knowledge provided by data and artificial intelligence is taking leadership in the market compared to traditional companies. “We are a world leader, so the TSWC will get the participation of the global CEOs of the main verticals (industrial) sectors, because they are seeing how the Internet of things is transforming them and we want to boost that ecosystem.”
