Bank of Canada: “Creation of crypto is viable”

An investigator of the entity said that this could bring growth for both the nation and the United States

A researcher from the Central Bank of Canada, said that a cryptocurrency created by the entity could bring benefits to the economy of the nation and the United States.

This is stated in a document published on Thursday, where the senior economist S. Mohammad R. Davoodalhosseini, said that the virtual currency “can lead to an increase of up to 0.6% in the volume of consumption in Canada and up to a 1.6% in the US “.

Currently, many banks around the world are analyzing the possibility of issuing their own CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency), as well as evaluating the benefits that this creation may have.

“Having both cash and CBDC available to agents sometimes results in less well-being than in cases where only cash is available alone or CBDC alone,” said the researcher.

On the other hand, the text states that, with the introduction of a CBDC, central banks could have a greater level of flexibility to adjust the current monetary policy.
