Bancolombia enters remittances field with innovative tools
The Colombian entity seeks to offer fast and efficient solutions to the growing community of people who need to send money remittances from abroad
Migration in the world has sharpened the need for people abroad to send money to their families in the country of origin. Colombia joins the countries that are innovating to offer their citizens efficient, fast and secure mechanisms and platforms.
An example is the initiative of the financial group Bancolombia, which recently announced its first product “open bancking” remittances enterprise from the API’s family, “a mechanism to expose functions of financial business that allow the exchange of information between developers through of apps.”
Through this innovation, developers will be able to join the experts in creating solutions for sending money from abroad to Colombia, in addition to providing remittance houses with efficient processes that take less time per operation.
The aim was ratified by Cipriano Lopez, innovation leader of Bancolombia, who said that the remittance companies interested in obtaining the product need only make contact with the bank to take advantage of API’s, which have a simpler contact with customers that need to send money from abroad to Colombia.
In addition to offering Colombians abroad a tool for remittances, Bancolombia also seeks to maintain alliances with fintechs, entrepreneurs and local developers.
