Artificial Intelligence reaches children

PopBot is a social robot designed for children to learn AI in a constructive, creative and practical way

PopBot is a programmable and intelligent social robot that plays with the kids to help them learn about Artificial Intelligence. The learning partner uses tools such as cell phones, Lego blocks, a tablet or computer. The relevant activities are developed around technology that allow children to create their algorithms.

The reforms are reoriented towards a permanent education that is re-considered in a regular and continuous manner and that also includes ethics. The approach with the PopBot also offers the opportunity to deal with ethical issues. The initiative was developed by the MIT Media Lab of Boston.

The robot has been designed with the firm purpose of a constructive, creative, practical and low cost robotic education. All the proposed activities are based on games and art. In the same way, the character of the playful robot makes the experience attractive and meaningful for children.

Infants learn by designing, training and interacting with the robot and prepare to succeed or survive in a world plagued by AI. The goal is not only to train children to understand and believe but to understand how their attitude towards technology evolves.

It is worth noting that educational systems have been strengthened to ensure that students acquire the necessary skills for a future workplace prepared in an environment of Artificial Intelligence.
