Artificial Intelligence evaluates and trains eyesight to prevent dysfunctions

The service is offered through training that prevents and treats future disorders

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is capable of performing cognitive evaluations of people’s vision, through training that prevents and treats future dysfunctions, as is the case with the latest service presented by the Spanish optical company Natural Optics Group.

This service works through the WIVI Vision solution, developed by the start-up e-Health Technical Solutions, which integrates IBM Watson AI technology to train the patient’s vision and improve their visual abilities, as IBM has reported in a release.

To date, opticians review their clients’ ability to focus and offer a solution to the problems they encounter through glasses, contact lenses, and in some cases, conventional vision therapy. However, e-Health Technical Solutions with WIVI Vision proposes to review other aspects of vision that are complementary, such as the neural and psychic part, which help to have an efficient vision and to maintain good visual health.

WIVI Vision evaluates more than 50 parameters from five different visual areas, in 15-minute sessions. This reduces training from one year to three months thanks to special hardware and software from e-Health Technical Solutions, which incorporates the AI capabilities of IBM Watson (Visual Recognition and Knowledge Studio) and IBM Digital Automatization.

Natural Optics customers can now access it at their opticians in Fuerteventura and it is expected to be available in Madrid, Barcelona and Lleida in the coming weeks.
