Argentina, the second country in Latin America with the biggest economic downturn

An investigation determined that during the four years of Mauricio Macri's government, the economy of the American nation was very affected

An analysis by the National University of Avellaneda (Undav) indicated that Argentina ranks as the second country that has seen the most declines in its economy in the last four years.

As noted, the nation ruled by Mauricio Macri “was the country that most destroyed its economy in Latin America from 2016 until 2019, after Venezuela.”

On the other hand, the report highlighted the progress of countries such as Ecuador and Brazil, which had some recessions in recent years, and where “the growth rates of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and per capita income show that the region, although growing at lower rates than the last decade, it has sustained growth in recent years”.

They added that “primary activities, such as fishing, with an accumulated growth of 8.03% and agriculture, livestock, hunting and forestry, with 5.38%, plus the service sector, were the most favored by the outgoing management policy.

On the other hand, the industry presented a sharp drop in the last four years of 8.63%, as did trade with 9.74%.
