Apple to donate face masks for healthcare workers

The company is working with governments to donate supplies where they are needed

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced through his Twitter account the donation of 20 million face masks, as a measure to combat the spread of the pandemic.

Cook reported that through his global supply chain he has managed to obtain the inputs and also continues to work with governments to donate them where necessary.

“Our design, engineering, operations and packaging teams are also working with suppliers to design, produce and ship face shields for medical workers,” Cook added in his tweet.

During the transmission on the social network, the executive announced that his action plan has been carried out with a first shipment of facial masks that “was delivered to the Kaiser hospital facilities in the Santa Clara Valley last week and the comments of the doctors were very positive,” said Cook.

The facial protectors that Apple offers, have an adjustable strap and are distributed in flat packages to the health centers that demand more products. Importantly, these inputs are being distributed in the United States, and plans are to send aid worldwide.
