Apple MAC Pro will be assembled in the US due to tariffs

The company decided to carry out the assembly process of the equipment in the US territory due to the Executive's decision regarding the exclusion of certain tariffs

The Apple technology company decided to assemble the new Mac Pro in the United States after the Executive of the US country decided to exclude from tariffs certain components necessary for assembly process.

Specifically, the US Commerce authorities decided on Friday to exempt 10 of the 15 components that Apple had requested and that were necessary for the manufacturing process of the Mac Pro, one of its desktop devices, from the payment of tariffs.

“The new Mac Pro will include components designed, developed and manufactured by more than a dozen American companies to be distributed to US customers,” the company said in a statement.

In this way, the new version of the computer, whose most basic configuration will cost US $ 5,999 in the United States when it is launched, will continue to be assembled in the same factory in Austin (Texas) in which it has been produced since 2013.

“The Mac Pro is Apple’s most powerful computer and we are proud to build it in Austin. We thank the Administration for this opportunity,” said the company’s CEO Tim Cook.
