Amazon vice president resigns

Tim Bray alleged that his decision is due to the recent "critical employee" layoffs the company has made

The vice president of the Amazon company, Tim Bray, announced that he will leave his position motivated by the behavior that the company has had during the current situation.

The company recently fired several employees who voiced concerns regarding the safety of warehouses during the pandemic.

For its part, Amazon justified each of the layoffs, ensuring that these were due to employees violating different internal protocols.

Bray accuses Amazon of “maintaining an unfair power structure” and “using its warehouse workers as easily replaceable personnel.” Treatment of warehouse employees is the main complaint, both in terms of the response against COVID-19, and in broader problems.

Bray’s resignation adds to criticism from employees, politicians and union organizations calling for greater protection for workers.
