The company allegedly went through a "technical error" which was already corrected in full
In the last hours, the Amazon network was involved in a scandal to leak information from its customers.
According to the most important purchase page in the world, this was caused by a “technical error“. So far they have not revealed the number of users who were affected by this.
For now the error has been corrected, as confirmed by Amazon through a statement, adding that those affected will not be forced to reset their passwords.
What happened may represent a risk for the company given that the information was exposed to a possible attack of identity theft that would allow hackers to attempt a reset of the account.
“If Amazon faces government investigations and fines for the error, it will depend on where the affected users live,” said Marc Rotenberg, president of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, an independent research group in the United States.
