The e-commerce giant Amazon obtained a net profit of 33,364 million dollars in 2021, which represents an increase of 56.4 % compared to the profits recorded a year earlier, according to the multinational.

Amazon’s net sales for the year amounted $469.822 million, 21.7 % higher than the previous year’s revenue, including a 12 % growth in product sales to $241.787 million, while the business of services invoiced 228,035 million dollars, 34 % more.

On its side, the turnover of Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a year-on-year increase of 37 %, to 62,202 million dollars.

Between October and December 2021, the company owned by Jeff Bezos recorded a net profit of 14,323 million dollars, which represents an increase of 98.3 % compared to the same period in 2020, while the multinational’s sales increased by 9.4 %, up to 137,412 million dollars.

“As expected during the holidays, we saw higher costs driven by labor shortages and inflationary pressures, and these issues persisted through the first quarter due to omicron”, said Andy Jassy, ​​Amazon CEO.
