Amanzon does not stop growing. After having given a virtual death sentence to Tidal it enabled a cash payments system making available to American customers a safe and reliable mechanism through Amazon Cash.
According to a company statement, purchases will be made through the Amazon Paycode system, an option enabled in association with the Western Union shipping and payment firm.
At the time of processing the purchase under the “cash payment” mode, a QR code is generated next to an identification number that must be presented by the customer at any of the 15,000 Western Union points to pay in cash, without additional charges.
The customer will have 24 business hours after having placed his order in the system. Period in whichhis purchase will be “reserved” to ensure the existence of the product. The main difference with the traditional Amazon Cash is that there is no need to deposit funds before choosing the payment method.
The head of the payments division of the American company, Ben Volk, said the company is “constantly innovating to improve the shopping experience for our consumers and we are proud to expand Amazon PayCode to customers in the United States.”
The company also assured: “Customers have told us that they like the convenience of paying in cash. Together with Western Union, we can offer consumers more options, allowing them to pay for their purchases online in a way that is convenient for them.”
