TikTok signed a music license agreement with Warner Music to bring its catalog to the video platform and the different services it offers, such as its music library, TikTok Music and the CapCut video editing application.
The platform, owned by ByteDance, commented that this agreement “will expand the level of partnership, collaboration and innovation between the two companies” and that “it will deepen the engagement with the audience of TikTok music fans.”
As the social network said in the announcement statement, with this association with the record label, artists and composers will have access to new ways of working with the brand’s partners, as well as new monetization, merchandising and ticketing functions, digital goods and services.
This deal also includes TikTok Music, the premium subscription streaming service, which launched in early July in Indonesia and Brazil and expects to roll out to other regions soon.
In addition, the agreement “also paves the way for Warner Music Group artists and songwriters to take advantage of unique promotional capabilities” and engage with the user community of TikTok’s video app CapCut.
