Ohio wants to implement blockchain technology

The legislators held a meeting with business owners, academics, among others to assess the benefits in public administration

The parliamentarians of the state of Ohio recently indicated that they are interested in adopting the nation’s technology for the development of this American region.

The head of the Ohio House of Representatives, Ryan Smith, held a meeting with other legislators, business owners and academics, to discuss the benefits that the blockchain could bring.

Smith says that although there is no formal proposal for a law, and stressed that this technology can have much room in the public sector for the storage of birth certificates, marriage licenses, among other documents.

“Since this is so new and is just the beginning, we can position Ohio at the forefront,” said Smith.

It is important to note that in May, Ohio had already gone through the evaluation process for a law related to the storage of blockchain networks and smart contracts, in order to have safer electronic records.
