Google accused of favoring young candidates in the labor market

The search engine received a collective action lawsuit by job seekers over 40, who claim to be discriminated because of their age

The alleged inequality in hiring by the Google search engine is the cause of a collective lawsuit that the US giant could not evade.

According to statements from some of those affected, Google has established a pattern of hiring that favors young people and discriminates against those who are over 40 years of age.

The case is in the hands of US District Judge Beth Labson Freeman, who issued a ruling against the company on August 1st in California.

Apparently, the company gives preference to the youth of the aspirants as opposed to the preparation that the person can show through his curriculum summary.

The terms of the demand are not very clear. Some of those interviewed with more than 40 years did not want to declare about it. However, Judge Freeman indicated that the parties must reach an agreement to be able to make the complaint public.
