Brave promotes encrypted video calls on its platform
Video conferencing with support for more than two participants is currently being tested at Brave Nightly
Cryptocurrency and privacy web browser Brave has launched an end-to-end encryption video conferencing technology tool that includes unlimited support for more than two participants, which was endorsed by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2017 .
The software, called Brave Together, is based on the Jitsi open-source encrypted video software, where all Brave users can access the feature without registering.
This innovative tool has left the video calls and virtual meetings software, Zoom, which has also considered the possibility of including end-to-end encryption on its platform in order to protect its users, although Brave was already ahead of it and is generating spikes in demand on the web.
Its founder Brendan Eich said that the software pays its users in Basic Attention Token (BAT) for viewing ads and in recent months has seen a huge increase in adoption.
For his part, the company’s chief marketing officer, Des Martin, tweeted that the platform surpassed one million new users during the month of March alone.
