World Economic Forum creates action plan against Covid

In a partnership with the World Health Organization, the WEF seeks to recruit companies to take actions against the viral outbreak

The World Economic Forum created the Platform for Action against Covid, with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) and urged world companies to join it to coordinate their actions in the face of the viral outbreak.

“Covid-19 is causing health emergencies and economic disruption that no interested party can cope with on its own,” said WEF founder and CEO Klaus Schwab.

“Our best and only answer must be concerted action. The Platform of Action against Covid is fundamental to our mission and we count on all our members and collaborators, communities and capacities to achieve succes”, he added.

The WEF also explained that the platform aims to “catalyze private sector support for the global public health response to Covid-19,” as well as doing it “as quickly and as far as necessary” to protect citizens.

The platform is open to all companies and industry groups in the world who want to join, as well as other stakeholders, including governments, who want to collaborate with the private sector in their response.
