Microsoft plans to add an Office key on keyboards

Microsoft is thinking about integrating a key for Microsoft Office on PC keyboards in order to increase the productivity of users

The firm continues to devise alternatives to improve the productivity of the users of its operating system. Therefore, they plan to replace the Windows menu key and include one that takes the person directly to the Windows Office suite.

The WalkingCat researcher showed a conceptual design of the Office key on PC keyboards. Microsoft wants the Office button to be very similar to Windows. Several users have requested the integration of a key of this type that supports shortcut commands such as Office + O, T, W, X, P, D, N, Y and L.

That is, the key combination will help to open each application corresponding to the Office suite, like Office + O for Outlook, Office + X to open Excel. Likewise, it is contemplated to ask the users if they wish to integrate an Office key on the keyboards of the laptops.

It is worth remembering that modifying this type of peripherals by adding a new key translates into a significant cost for manufacturers of PC and laptop computers, as they have to redesign their new components and also make relevant tests to ensure proper operation.
