QR codes allow businesses to manage inventory, process payments instantly, and more, but how can they make life easier at home?
The most well-known use of QR codes is in the commercial sector. Businesses use them to manage inventory, receive payments for purchases, and provide access to wireless internet. Other lesser-known uses aim to simplify life at home.
Creating a QR code for the technical manual of a washing machine or dryer facilitates access to this information from the manufacturer, for example, after printing it and affixing it to a visible location on the appliance.
A similar case occurs with saved recipes. There’s no need to search for them in computer files or email. Scanning the previously created code, placed in a visible location, is all it takes.
On the other hand, it’s easier to activate a streaming playlist by scanning a QR code at home. This tool also provides access to the pet owner’s information, including contact phone number, directly on the smartphone, allowing for quick identification if the pet gets lost.
In terms of security, QR codes represent a more efficient way to provide access to smart locks and gates, as well as secure access systems for meetings and parties.
These are just some practical uses in the home for a mechanism originally designed for the commercial sector.
