Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced cabinet changes as a measure to strengthen the services and functions of each department

Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, formalized this week cabinet changes that were approved last month and so far in February. In this regard, Juan Francisco Escalona Camargo has been appointed as Director General of the Decentralized Service for the Special Fund for Human City, and Luis Alfredo Mota Domínguez will be the Director General of the Decentralized Service for the First Black Fund, as indicated in Official Gazette No. 43,313 dated February 9, 2026.

Also, and according to Official Gazette No. 43,314 dated February 10, Aurelix Johana Salcedo Medina was appointed as the new President of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (CONAPDIS), and Carolina Rojas Hernández as President of the José Gregorio Hernández Mission Foundation.

Similarly, Fred Ángelo Bruno was assigned to the Human Resources Office Management of the National Institute of Culture (INAC), and a new board of directors was appointed for Hidroven. Meanwhile, the “new Commission for the Divestment of Public Assets of CANTV” was appointed, and Major General Ángel Daniel Balestrini Jaramillo was designated as Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, to sign documents related to their functions.

Within the Ministry of Foreign Trade, key changes were also implemented to strengthen the national economy. In this regard, through “Presidential Decree No. 5,245, published in Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,984 dated February 9, 2026,” Andreína Tarazón Bolívar assumed the position of Vice Minister of International Trade Policy.

The decree of the National Executive “also establishes significant changes in critical areas for foreign exchange earnings. Johann Carlos Álvarez Márquez assumes the position of Vice Minister of Export Promotion.”

Finally, through Official Gazette No. 6,984, the presidency appointed Coromoto Godoy Calderón as president of the Export Promotion Agency S.A.
