Venezuela and Russia signed 42 agreements in various key areas for both nations, such as agriculture, energy, cooperation, and the extension to 15 years of the license for oil exploration and exploitation by joint ventures.
The meeting between Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko also provided an opportunity to sign agreements in the area of health, “such as those focused on the production of insulin and the cancer vaccine.”
Rodríguez stated: “We have signed very good agreements for our people, for shared development, and they will begin to materialize very soon (…) We appreciate all the expressions of solidarity that Russia has consistently shown to our country. Rest assured that Venezuela will not surrender and will emerge victorious, defending the peace and sovereignty of this nation.”
