Seoul fights crime with 3D holograms and AI technology
A life-size 3D police hologram, along with modern AI-powered surveillance cameras, are the new security mechanism on the streets of Seoul, South Korea, to deter criminals from committing crimes
Artificial intelligence integrated into strategically placed street cameras, as well as life-size 3D holograms of police officers, are the new ally of security and crime prevention in Seoul, South Korea.
Now, combating crime in crowded areas and preventing crime is more efficient thanks to the presence of this mechanism considered the police of the future, the crime-defying hologram that is set to revolutionize the lives of both citizens and businesses.
The “innovative holographic police officer is projected every night with the aim of deterring crime in crowded areas,” according to media reports, with which the city seeks to “strengthen security in bar areas and spaces frequented by nighttime pedestrians.”
This ingenious experiment, in its pilot phase, is being tested in Judong Park No. 3, in the Jung-gu District, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. and has surprised passersby, who have received it with curiosity and pleasure.
The key to this hologram, which measures 1.70 meters and cannot actually intervene in a criminal event, is to remind visitors “that there are surveillance cameras everywhere and that, in case of an emergency, the police will respond immediately.”
Regarding the 3D police officer, it is known that it was developed by the hologram specialist Hologrammica, and that “since its implementation, crime in the park has decreased by 22%,” according to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
