In 2025, Sanrio, the developer of Hello Kitty, will open a museum to promote its products in Kai City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

According to company sources, the focus is to promote its creations more and also become a local reference in the segment.

Local media reported that Sanrio “intends to rent land owned by the city to set up its museum.” There it will be able to advertise the different characters that make up the company, “in addition to telling the story of its founder, the current honorary president of the company, Shintaro Tsuji.”

The opening of this museum could represent an opening for the city to tourism that would yield economic benefits, according to the aspirations of Mayor Takeshi Hosaka, who had already launched a plan to revitalize the local economy.
