Xiaomi launches mechanism to clean dust inside phones with sound

The Asian company announced that the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A series will feature speakers with holes, located at the bottom of the phone, that will allow dust to be cleaned in 30 seconds

Xiaomi developed a technology for its smartphones that allows cleaning the dust that enters the holes of the speakers automatically through sound waves.

This feature, unknown so far, is present in the new Redmi 8 and 8A family of input range terminals, which are for sale in China.

To solve the problem of the entrance of dust particles in the speaker holes the bottom of the phone, Redmi 8 uses a speaker that can remove it in 30 seconds.

The “hidden ability” of the device is based on sound, and reproduces a sound with maximum amplitude for half a minute which expels dust particles from the microphone cavity, Xiaomi explains. It works for the speaker but not for other holes such as the USB Type-C charging port or the 3.5mm headphone jack.

As for the rest of its features, Redmi 8 offers a design with a 6.22-inch screen with drop-notch, 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging of 18W and the Snapdragon 439 processor.
