Vodafone Spain suffered a severe interruption
The telephone company left its clients without Internet and local telephone system due to an incidence that lasted ten hours in all the Spanish territory
The failure occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. It affected not only the Internet connection service at home but also damaged the fixed local telephone service. Luckily, the coverage and the mobile Internet were not affected. The service was restored during the morning of this Wednesday.
Several sources strongly denied a general breakdown. They pointed out that in some regions the customers were not affected and for the users involved they were granted unlimited mobile connection during the day.
As a consequence, Vodafone customers filled with complaints and comments the social networks of the operator; many protested for the lack of information and waiting time on the phone.
For its part, the company claims that the cause of the fall was a technical issue and discards any relationship with the meeting held with the authorities for the negotiation where they plan to lay off 1,200 employees throughout Spain, representing a 23,5% of the payroll.
