Vilynx, Spanish startup among the best in the world
The platform, which incorporates artificial intelligence, was included among the most promising by the GSMA
The GSMA, the general association of mobile operators and associated companies, released the list of the most promising startups of this year, among which is included the Spanish Vilynx.
The inclusion of this company, dedicated to media sector and based on artificial intelligence, in the ranking of the GSMA represents a big challenge since it must keep the standards of the best companies in the world, which are now more then 800 related firms.
Vilynx is now number 18 of the ranking thanks to its video information automation system. According to María Ferro, CFO of the startup, this initiative was born “in Barcelona, in 2013, with the objective of helping the users to understand the content of videos and extract the data as a method of efficient classification”.
The system is based on the image processing techniques and what is known as machine learning. As a result, artificial intelligence is able to learn through the summaries the platform makes about the content of each video to figure out a complete index and make proposals according to the search habits.
Artificial intelligence “not only extracts the video content (images, audio and script); this non surveyed self-learning process enriches its knowledge up to making connections among concepts so it can go beyond the concept itself.”
On the other hand, and thanks to this efficacious neuronal net, the search in the platforms becomes faster and more efficient. Undoubtedly, Vilynx has now the way open to Europe and for its consolidation as an outstanding AI company on the media field.
