Venezuela will discuss tax aspects of cryptocurrencies

The Venezuelan Tax Law Association will hold its annual forum on November 29 and 30 in Caracas, focused on taxation in the digital era and all aspects related to cryptocurrencies

The 17th edition of the annual forum of the Venezuelan Association of Tax Law (AVDT) will be held in the city of Caracas on the 29th and 30th of this month. In this edition, the event was called “Taxation in the era of the Digital Economy”.

The Venezuelan speakers will be accompanied by specialists from Spain, Mexico and Colombia for two days, in the auditorium of the Metropolitan University, to discuss fundamental aspects of Tax Law in the digital era.

The forum will consist of two modules. In the first, entitled “Cryptocurrencies, their tax implications and tax control of electronic transactions”, the focus will be on the digital currency and the respective tax obligations. Ismael Monteverde will talk about the effects of the blockchain on the taxation of the enrichments obtained by electronic commerce. Daniel Betancourt Ramírez will expose the issue of taxation as a public intervention in the crypto market. Ysabel Figuera will discuss the tax effects of digital currency payments.

Other local speakers will address issues such as income tax and cryptocurrencies; successions and donations; municipal taxation; electronic invoice and digital solvency.

The second module, called “Taxation and electronic commerce, implications of the digital age”, will have ten conferences, of which four will be in charge of Jesús Sol Gil, from Venezuela; Arturo Pueblita de México; Juan Pablo Godoy from Colombia and César García Novoa from Spain.
