User performs first bitcoin transaction without the need for Internet

A Canadian manifested in the social network Twitter having made an exchange in cryptocurrencies using only an amateur radio and a brian wallet

This week, one of the first transactions in bitcoins without the use of an Internet connection or a satellite was registered in Canada as a test.

A user of the social network Twitter reported the success of his experiment, ensuring that he was able to complete the transfer of 0.01067186 btc made with an amateur radio system and a brain wallet.

“Since it is a brain wallet, made in advance with the carrier, I do not need the Internet to transmit this transaction at the time I send it. I should add that in most countries encrypted communication is not allowed for radio amateurs, unless the code is public. This is one of the reasons why I chose to do a brain wallet,” his publication said.

Faced with this fact, one of the recognized talents within the world of cryptocurrencies, John Villar was pronounced assuring that what was done “was not a transaction as such”.

“It was a partial brain wallet, but the idea is the same, basically NVK transmitted the words of a seed partially, so that its counterpart would sweep the private key.” To prevent anyone from doing so, he used a pre-shared secret, known as PSK. So the brain wallet was transmitted + the pre-shared”, he said.
