Spain launches Andrea, the app to report bullying anonymously

The innovative application creates bullying alerts in schools and institutes anonymously with the help of students and teachers

Now the students of schools and institutes can communicate and detect cases of bullying anonymously through a new mobile application called “Andrea“. It is already implemented in several educational centers of the community of Valencia, Spain, with very significant and promising results.

Nectar, a Valencian digital agency, was responsible for developing the app with the collaboration of the City of Valencia. Andrea has the purpose of preventing and detecting bullying with the help of the students and teachers plus a team of external psychologists.

Raúl Ortiz, project director and partner of the agency, states: “In a simple way, with a very visual design and a close language, Andrea creates the perfect environment so that students can act with maximum confidence and confidentiality to share their concerns and to report cases of bullying.”

Undoubtedly, the tool tries to respond to a context in which social networks are the new universe for bullying. Harassment in institutions is accompanied by social ridicule through social networks, which really affects young people.

Currently the application is installed in several secondary education centers of the Valencian community, with the aim of improving communication between students and teachers and encourage visibility of the problem.
