These are the projections of the specialists in technology and innovation, who have met in the recent edition of Appliance and Electronics World Expo (AWE 2019)

Shanghai hosted the 14th to the 17th of this month, the 2019 edition of the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE), at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. At the event, experts, developers and entrepreneurs met to show equipment that were once considered science fiction but by 2022 will be part of everyday life.

These are household appliances and electronic equipment based on artificial intelligence, with innovation that will allow a host of functions, from adjusting the washing of clothes according to material, color or specifications of the label through musical ambience for relaxation depending on the mood of those who live in the house, even air conditioners that recognize the user and can adjust the temperature to taste.

Although some of the advances presented in Shanghai are already on the market some years ago thanks to the advances in home automation, since the exhibition the specialists have launched the projection that by the year 2022 these developments will be present in the house of the future.

Some examples of what the event showed are the cameras integrated into washing machines to determine washing cycles according to the garment and in mirrors to know the mood of the person. Also, smart systems that capture the vital signs of home dwellers, including allied devices of human health integrated in refrigerators by means of the fingerprint to check the health of the person and other environmentally friendly equipment.

Thomas Wang, director of international marketing of the fair, said: “The tendency of the market is that artificial intelligence gets more and more into our homes, that everything is connected and big data is collected so that the devices are more and more intelligent.” They handle concepts such as biometric identification and Internet of things.

Undoubtedly, in these advances there is a direct link with human emotions, which lead to other key areas such as health and wellbeing, given that the activation of the functions of the devices presented at the fair will be able to perceive the gestures of the users, listen to their voice and know if they are happy, sad, stressed or angry to adjust the lighting, the temperature of the house or place music for their comfort.
