Plans for bitcoin ATMs in Argentina are postponed

Argentina will have to wait for the activation of almost 200 bitcoin ATMs that two US companies promised to install before the end of the year

The North American company Odyssey Group planned to install 150 bitcoin ATMs in Argentina before the end of the year, projecting a total of 1,600 machines by the end of 2019.

Similarly, Athena Bitcoin, the company that installed the first bitcoin ATM in Argentina, announced that it expected to place 30 machines in the country before the end of the year.

However, the plans of both companies have had to be postponed. The reason for delaying the installation of bitcoin ATMs in Argentina is due to the technical and legal adjustments demanded by the Central Bank and financial partners in the local market.

The report also points out that Odyssey Group has broken promises in the past and Athena is the only company that has installed bitcoin ATMs in Latin America. According to its website there are 15 in Colombia and 4 in Argentina.
