Microsoft adds two of its tools on Android
From now on in this operating system, users like "Your Phone" have begun to receive download recommendations
Microsoft has introduced ads for their applications in the Android operating system, so that users of their mobile applications such as “Your Phone” have begun to receive recommendations to download other apps of the company from the internal menus of the system.
As Reddit users have warned and picked up the Android Police portal, these download recommendations are shown to users in the “open with” menu, to choose which application to open a file with – .pptx, .xlxs and. docx – and also in the “share”.
In this way, among the list of applications that the user already has installed on their device, Android includes apps from Microsoft such as Word or PowerPoint that have not been installed, with the word “install” in parentheses and with a link to the software download platforms.
According to those affected by Reddit, these ads have been shown in most cases to users who had already installed other Microsoft applications on their devices, such as “Your Phone”, for joint work between the PC and the mobile.
In its advertising policies for applications, Google Play specifies that “ads should only be displayed within the application that publishes them,” and that they are considered inappropriate if they do not comply with this measure.
