The forecasts of the International Monetary Fund this year for the country predict an inflation that will be around 10,000,000%, as well as a reduction of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 5%.
One of the great efforts of Maduro, faced with the alleged “economic persecution“, is to increase oil production and increase the country’s capacity in the petrochemical, gold, diamonds and coltan areas.
