Kaili: “Banks keep a lot of control over people’s money”

The Greek member of the European Union stressed that central entities maintain much control over the financial movements of citizens

The Greek member of the European Union, Eva Kaili, recently assured that the central banks of the region maintain a lot of control over the deposits of the inhabitants.

The deputy spoke of the particular case of Greece, where banks begun to apply a meticulous control in the financial movements of the population after the debt crisis.

Kaili participated in the Ripple Regionals event, which was held in London and where she was consulted about the actions of the European Union before a possible regulation of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

“By its nature, the blockchain technology does not recognize borders, it is unstoppable”, said the representative of Greece to the European Union.

Kaili has also recognized the benefits of blockchain-based systems over cross-border payments, mainly speed and cheaper rates when compared to traditional systems.
