French students will study characteristics of bitcoin

High school students will learn about cryptocurrency through an adaptation of the French educational system

The French Ministry of Education announced the inclusion of bitcoin as part of the educational programs that the State imparts in the area of Economics and Social Sciences to high school students in the region, noting that they will use cryptocurrency to help students learn about the characteristics of money.

As described by the authorities, the cryptoactive will not be explored deeply, but  studied under a general vision in order to introduce students to the understanding of decentralization in the field of conventional financial systems.

The introductory classes will consist of four explanatory videos that include “Can Bitcoin replace the euro?” And “Is Bitcoin the currency of the future?” The objective is to demonstrate the operation of the cryptocurrency in the market and how it compares with fiat money, known as the form of money without intrinsic value, that is, its value is based on the declaration as money by the State.

According to the visionary idea of the country’s head of government, Emmanuel Macron, the goal of training new generations is not only simplified in young people learning how to use this virtual currency but also turning France into an international superpower in both areas. According to statistics, their efforts on the subject have produced results, because Paris recently surpassed Berlin in terms of capital raised by new technology companies.

It should be noted that in recent years the offer of courses on bitcoin in universities around the world has increased. According to Coinbase data, 21 of the top 50 universities in the world offer courses on cryptocurrencies.
