Flights between the US and Venezuela were restricted
The White House reported that air traffic between the two countries will be suspended due to the social, political and economic conditions of the region
Through a statement, the White House on Wednesday prohibited air traffic between Venezuela and the United States due to the social, economic and political conditions of the Latin country.
“I am suspending the authorization of all US and foreign airlines to provide overseas air transportation to or from Venezuelan airports,” says the Department of Transportation order issued after an assessment by the Department of Homeland Security.
This measure covers the transportation of passengers and cargo of US and foreign airlines that provide service between both nations.
The Department of Homeland Security told to that of Transportation that “conditions in Venezuela threaten the safety of passengers, aircraft and crews traveling to or from that country.
“One of the arguments of the US entity is that in Venezuela are generating” civil unrest and violence “in the vicinity of airports, before this the US Transportation Security Office does not have access to evaluate Venezuelan airports”.
