Facebook announced this Friday that it will block the pre-installation of its applications on Huawei cell phones. The measure complies with Google‘s recent decision to break relations with the Chinese manufacturer.
It was known that customers who are currently owners of the brand’s phones and have installed the Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram will continue to use them and enjoy the corresponding updates. This is what Facebook indicated to the news agency AFP.
With this decision, the firm joins the Trump Administration’s measure, which seeks to “isolate the second largest mobile phone company in the world, as a result of Washington’s fears regarding security.”
In this regard, it is appropriate to remember that last May Google announced the cessation of all commercial links with Huawei. This meant a serious commercial blow for the company, which has seen the progressive reduction of contracts around the world.
