Colombia will invest millions at Venezuela border

The administration of Iván Duque plans to invest 229 million dollars to support the departments at the Venezuela border in order to attend the crisis in this country

During the presentation of the “Impact Plan“, Colombia assured they have planned the investment of 229 million dollars in the border departments with Venezuela.

This seeks to provide support to the institutions in their struggle to face the effects of the crisis experienced by Venezuela.

The Colombian president, Iván Duque, was in charge of giving the announcement in the meeting held in Cúcuta, with the governors of the border departments of Norte de Santander, Arauca, Cesar, La Guajira, Vichada and Guainía.

“It is an initiative to respond to the needs of the border areas in the midst of a crisis that has been very painful, which is expressed in more than 1.5 million migrants“, said Duque.

The Colombian government will be promoting a series of additional measures than include investment, competitiveness and new jobs; humanitarian support and health care as well as institutional strengthening.
